Uncovering The Key to Discovery

“Always, everywhere God is present, and always He seeks to discover Himself to each one”  ―     A.W. Tozer, The Pursuit of God

I am certain that no man can explain in only a few words the journey that God places us on once we  realize with all of our heart that it is God who holds the key to self discovery! The man or woman who makes this discovery can prepare for an amazing journey ahead! A.W. Tozer gives us a glimpse of light to reveal what God is after. Just like you and I when we birth a masterpiece, whether it’s our children or a literal work of art, we want to perfect it so that it can realize its full worth and potential.  In that same way, God is constantly reaching out to us so that we can be perfected in Him, and finally, see life the way it was meant to be seen without our transgressions fogging up the lens!

More New Year’s Advice, Why Not?

“Self-pity is our worst enemy and if we yield to it, we can never do anything wise in this world.” – Helen Keller

Considering thSmiles Brighten Any Daye obstacles she had to overcome, I think Helen knew what she was talking about here and probably had to force a smile on many trying days! And, I too have some rules to help overcome the pity party blues, but it’s not what you’d expect!  Stay tuned in and read the upcoming article to see what I mean!!

Psalm For The Meaning Of Life

Let me find grace in the real world, release in
the world of my imagination, and joy in both.

Help me to notice the lessons in Your world~
the turtle to remind me to slow down;
the peach and the lilac to remind me
of what in life is sweet;
the charred piece of driftwood to remind me
that I, too, have been through the fire;
the tall yarrow alongside the road bending in
the wind to remind me that I may be bent,
but not broken;
the newborn child to remind me that wonder
and trust are the hope of the future.

Let me have a hope that bears out.

~Phyllis K. Collier

Daddy’s Here

Until We Meet Again, this is for you Dad:

Suddenly, the time has come to say good-bye.
I’m glad that I was able to have sat by your side.
I’m glad we put a few smiles on each other’s face.
It would have been nice to do so much more.
But, life isn’t like that….

There are only so many second chances.
Just please let me say this: I love you and I want you to know,
You were a good father and you did your best.
So I thank you in case I didn’t always let it show.
I appreciate the best that you gave me.

Surely many blessings have flowed because you have,
Given me something unique.
Your life gave me a taste of you,
Sometimes bitter and sometimes sweet.

We all have our ways of dealing with challenges
You’ve seen better days, but this I know,
No matter what messes we’ve made,
God can take any misdeeds and use them for healing.

Daddy’s here and His love is an open door.
So fear no more and ask not a question,
As you walk along life’s final shore.
I know that Daddy is here and I will not fear now that death draws you near.

I will remember you and all the good your life gave me.
I shall now look for you within heaven’s dreams,
Peacefulness and rest are yours to own.
God bless you Dear Papa and welcome home!

Echoes of Sorrow, Still the Sun Shines on 9-11

Not a day passes over the earth but men and women of no note do great deeds, speak great words, and suffer noble sorrows.

-Charles Reade
The question remains, if you were old enough to remember the events of 9-11-01: how have you allowed such sorrows to change how you live and what you live for this very day?
