This morning is your one and only chance to catch this blue moon which only occurs once every 3 years. I am always fascinated by the moon, and so are countless others across the world, but then again, I’m fascinated everyday with nature and all of the creations of God. However, in life, we often take things further than we ought leading us to a fate that is not so striking!
Many moons ago, The New Moon Festivals were observed to signify calendar days and the setting of special holy days. They were never observed for the purpose of honoring or worshiping the moon itself. That practice came about like all other deceptive practices. It comes from being lead astray and following man’s design instead of God’s law. God himself warns of moon worshiping: “And when you look up to the sky and see the sun, the moon and the stars-all the heavenly array-do not be enticed into bowing down to them and worshiping things the Lord your God has apportioned to all the nations under heaven.” (Deut. 4:19).
Journalist, Emma Koonse of CP World writes, “The first full moon during the month occurred on Aug. 1, but even if stargazers missed the bright sky then, they can enjoy the last blue moon that will occur for the next three years. The blue moon will reach its full phase at 9:58 a.m. EST Friday.” That’s only in a few hours! Look up and take in the view of the sky and the moon which forms all nations into one. As we enjoy this mesmerizing sight, in your amazement, don’t thank the moon for itself, but thank the God who placed the moon for “ALL the nations under heaven.”
